Glenfiddich blossoming pop-up: Approaching 2024, the Scottish whisky brand has launched a special pop-up to commemorate this auspicious occasion. The pop-up, located at Gaysorn Village will feature exclusive products under the ‘A Gift for Blossoming Futures’ limited-edition series complete with a designated tasting area and exclusive bottle engraving station.
At the launch event for the pop-up, guests were treated to an exclusive tasting menu in collaboration with the upcoming modern Chinese restaurant, Maison Rouge by Chef Gunn-Sorawis Saengvanich, renowned chef, model, and contestant from Top Chef Thailand Season 2. The special tasting menu is masterfully paired with Glenfiddich 12, 15, 18 Year Old, as well as the 21 Year Old Gran Reserva from the limited-edition series.
Starting off the first course, to entice the palette is a Chicken Roulade dish that is paired exquisitely alongside the Glenfiddich 12 Year Old. The chicken roulade is masterfully marinated in Glenfiddich with a side of sweet and crispy Asian pear and cucumber salad that goes especially well with the spicy mala sesame dressing.
Followed by Deep fried tofu skin wrapped shrimp with truffle, served with vanilla plum sauce, that makes an appearance alongside the Glenfiddich 15 Year Old.
The robust Glenfiddich 18 Year Old with its sweetness from the sherry wood and oakiness drawn from the traditional casts makes a dashing entrance in the third course, paired expertly with Maison Rouge Peking duck with mango, lychee, buckwheat crepe and special hoisin sauce.
For the star of the night, the Gran Reserva 21 Year Old with its complex and smoky finish makes an auspicious entry alongside the Crispy Pork Belly with ginger jam, whole grain mustard, and butternut squash.
In addition, Glenfiddich has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artist Raku Inoue to create a collection of limited-edition gifts. Raku personifies the spirit of Glenfiddich, and he was inspired by the great outdoors when designing the extraordinary sets. Glenfiddich invites you to raise a glass with family and friends this coming New Year 2024.
Born in Japan and based in Canada, Raku’s artistic journey led to his mastery of drawing, handcrafting and photography. This understanding of image composition has more recently developed his love of working with organic materials – including flowers, leaves, and numerous flora species.
Raku has applied his signature style to bring to life the Glenfiddich New Year limited editions, uniting the iconic Glenfiddich Stag with the magnificent Wood Dragon through his masterful lens. A legendary creature, Wood Dragons are born leaders, their spirits reminiscent of the Glenfiddich pioneers. As a native Earth element, wood personifies growth and the flowering of new life. In homage to this mythical creature, this year the Glenfiddich Stag has been inspired by the Wood Dragon – from the leaves of the forest, symbolizing an auspicious future in full bloom ahead.
Raku Inoue comments: “New Year represents growth and renewal, and what better symbol than nature. My aim was to take you on a journey to the great outdoors, harnessing some of the most magnificent elements. Fu Lu, the Glenfiddich Stag, is formed and crafted petal by petal, element by element from natural materials and fitting to this auspicious moment in time.”
The limited-edition series is led by the Glenfiddich Reserva Rum Cask 21 Year Old pack and spans the core range of 12, 12 Sherry Cask Finish, 15 and 18 Year Old variants, which come as gift packs complete with whisky-nosing glasses.
The exclusive pop-up complete with a designated tasting area and exclusive bottle engraving station will be at Gaysorn Village until January 10th, 2024.
