Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Deepavali 2024: Celebrate this cultural festival with a vibrant blend of culture and cuisine! From 31 October to 10 November 2024 the hotel’s Kwee Zeen restaurant offers a captivating eleven-day Taste of Mumbai”’ buffet dinner, featuring authentic dishes crafted by our distinguished guest, Indian Master Chef Waris Qureshi, flown in from Mumbai.

This gastronomic celebration will be paired with captivating local traditional Indian music and dance performances, offering a rich fusion of culture and cuisine in honour of this festive season.

In this highly anticipated collaboration, Chef Waris Qureshi, Chef de Cuisine at Sofitel Mumbai BKC’s award-winning Jyran restaurant, named Best Indian Cuisine in the Continent at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards, brings his culinary artistry to the forefront. Chef Qureshi’s deep-rooted family heritage from Lucknow, a city renowned for its gastronomic history, shines through in his masterful creations. He draws inspiration from his great-grandfather, Mohammed Yusuf Qureshi, head chef to Nawab Wajid Ali Shah in the 18th century. The stories of opulent feasts prepared for royalty fuelled his passion for cooking, which was nurtured as he helped his father in the family catering business. His journey reflects a generational legacy, rich with tradition and an unwavering dedication to his craft.

Chef Qureshi’s menu for The Taste of Mumbai is a tribute to traditional Indian cuisine, blending cherished recipes with modern techniques. Indulge in aromatic Paneer Tikka Masala, creamy Butter Chicken, and fragrant Hyderabadi Dum Biryani. Enjoy Shahi Gosht Ki Gilawat, a royal minced lamb dish, and Murgh Mussalam, a spiced, roasted whole chicken. Savour Kerala Roast Fish with a crispy exterior, and Prawns Tawa Pulao with plump prawns and fragrant rice. Complement your meal with an array of crispy papads and vibrant chutneys. This diverse selection among many other delightful dishes promises an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the rich and varied flavours of India.
