Sereni-Tea Afternoon Tea is a locally-inspired new afternoon tea at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Savour the flavourful abundance of Malaysia, while being served in the enchanting elegance of The Lounge, where the newly crafted menu shines the spotlight on local ingredients and culinary traditions, bringing the charm of Malaysia to the classic afternoon tea experience.

“Our new selection is inspired by the bounty of Malaysia, a land blessed by nature. International guests will have the chance to discover the diverse flavours of this destination, while local guests can rediscover their favourite flavours in exciting new forms,” shares Yann Roumanille, Executive Pastry Chef.

Chef Yann’s personal favourite is the Chocolate Couture, a sumptuous composition of cacao cake, buckwheat praline and chocolate mousse infused with native Buah Keluak. Known as the truffle of the east, Buah Keluak is the seed of the kepayang tree and has a rich history in Peranakan cuisine. It is prized for its earthy and smoky notes, lending a wonderful depth of flavour to every bite.

Sample other sweet treats such as the Jolie Figue Haute, featuring fig leaf mousse and ginger compote on multigrain sable, and The Butterfly, an elegant blend of Sabah black tea cake, milk chocolate crémeux and bergamot jelly. Teatime classics arrive with a fresh local flair: enjoy Coconut Scones with homemade kaya and mango-passion fruit jam.

On the savoury side, discover the Coronation Chicken, elevated with Malaysian touches such as smoked curry aioli, mango powder and dried floss, and the Keto Egg Salad with avruga caviar, spiced with Sarawak black pepper and garlic chives. Offering true indulgence for the taste buds, the Pulled Beef Brisket is paired with the rich flavours of Comté cheese, pickled jalapeño and watercress.

Meet Chef Yann Roumanille

Hailing from the Provence region in France, Executive Pastry Chef Yann Roumanille has honed his craft in traditional patisseries, Michelin-starred restaurants and grand city hotels from Paris to Taipei. He is known for constructing “borderless” dessert experiences, drawing on diverse culinary elements to engage and delight the palates of both local and international guests. Each creation by Chef Yann reflects his passion for high-quality ingredients and his belief in achieving simplicity through complexity.
