A Four‑Hands Saffron dinner exclusive is imminent at the Banyan Tree Bintan resort, held during 7-9 May. Discerning diners are welcome to an extraordinary experience featuring Chef Tipaporn “Tipa” Phianthong and Chef Chitchom “Chom” Chansong, a curated culinary journey inspired by the rich gastronomic heritage of Southern Thailand.

This special collaboration showcases a thoughtfully designed selection of three‑, four‑, and five‑course tasting menus, reflecting increasing levels of sophistication and indulgence. Chef Tipa introduces a refined collection of dishes that balance traditional Thai culinary foundations with modern techniques and elegant presentation, creating a dining experience that is both authentic and contemporary.

As the Head of Saffron for Banyan Tree and who has participated in Top Chef Thailand, Phuket‑born Chef Tipa shares her vision:

“I would like to highlight locally sourced ingredients and sustainability, in line with Banyan Tree and Saffron’s vision, which I am keen to apply in future Saffron menu standards.”

“Together with Chef Chom, we will create a refined interpretation of Southern Phuket’s culinary heritage. This curated tasting experience celebrates Thailand’s rich flavours through a contemporary lens. Each course is thoughtfully composed to achieve harmony in taste, texture, and aroma—highlighting the finest local ingredients with elegance and precision.”

Joining her is Chef Chitchom “Chom” Chansong, a native of Phichit in Central Thailand, who has helmed Saffron at Banyan Tree Bintan as Thai Sous Chef for the past three years. Under her stewardship, the restaurant has maintained its reputation as a signature Thai dining destination on the island, presenting authentic Thai cuisine with a modern twist and strong commitment to sustainability.

This unique four‑hands collaboration blends contemporary creativity with authentic Thai heritage, showcasing refined family recipes, premium ingredients, and heartfelt culinary techniques. Together, the chefs present a menu that celebrates vibrant flavours, aromatic spices, and Southern Thai authenticity.

Guests can look forward to signature dishes such as: Gai Yang Kor Lae, a soulful Southern Thai specialty featuring charcoal‑grilled chicken glazed with a fragrant peanut and chilli marinade rooted in time‑honoured regional traditions or Khao Niew Mamuang, Thailand’s most beloved dessert, reimagined with pandan or butterfly pea hues and complemented by modern black sesame ice cream—bridging nostalgia with contemporary craftsmanship.
