Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort

Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort has opened on the Malaysian nature and tourist island. Nestled between a centuries-old tropical rainforest and the Andaman Sea, the resort is a sanctuary for travellers seeking a connection to both the island’s natural beauty and their personal wellbeing.

The new resort strengthens Hilton’s presence in the country.

“The opening of Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort reflects Hilton’s commitment to bringing its flagship brand’s experience to Malaysia’s most renowned leisure destinations,” said Alexandra Murray, area vice president and head of South East Asia, Hilton. “As the country continues to solidify its position as a highly sought-after global destination, we are strategically growing a portfolio that meets the evolving demands of the modern traveller. By bringing Hilton’s world-class hospitality to the beauty of Burau Bay, we are offering a sophisticated new benchmark for full-service hospitality in Langkawi.”

Spanning almost 22 acres, the resort’s architecture flows with the natural undulating coastline, drawing on weathered stone, warm timber, and neutral tones to blend with the landscape. The 251 guest rooms and suites are designed as calm sanctuaries inspired by the surrounding rainforest, where minimalist lines and tactile elements like raw wood and stone-textured finishes come together in a way that feels sophisticated yet deeply connected to nature. Room types range from Terrace and Deluxe Rooms to Executive Suites, each offering a private terrace or balcony overlooking the rainforest, mountains or sea. This includes 16 connecting rooms, where configurations are thoughtfully designed for multi-generational travel, balancing privacy with shared family space.

Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort’s four restaurants

The resort’s four restaurants are designed with the same nature-led philosophy with vaulted ceilings, timber-clad walls, and open-air terraces creating a sense of openness, while intimate seating zones and sculptural local art ensure every meal feels distinctly of place. Within the culinary line-up, guests can enjoy authentic Asian flavours paired with international classics at Gingerfire, the resort’s all-day dining restaurant. At the heart of the lobby, Haliya Lounge offers a modern retreat for artisanal coffees and light bites infused with local botanicals, while MINGZHU introduces a rare specialty concept to the island, honouring the complex, spice-driven traditions of Yunnan’s ethnic tribes. Completing the portfolio, Trattoria Mare is an elevated seaside destination where Italian flavors meet the Andaman coast, offering a sophisticated alfresco experience.

The resort’s restorative philosophy is anchored by eforea Spa, which draws upon Langkawi’s restorative coastal setting and indigenous botanicals to offer a wellness journey that transcends traditional therapy. The design embraces the island’s natural sea air through an open-pavilion layout, featuring specialized facilities such as outdoor sauna barrels for deep heat therapy and a dedicated Salt Room for respiratory health and skin rejuvenation. This experience transitions through the Elixir Lounge, where the ritual concludes with a curated selection of artisanal teas, providing a quiet interlude designed to ground guests before they leave.

The wellness experience extends across the resort’s three distinct swimming pools – a family-friendly hub, a dedicated kids’ pool and a secluded adults-only retreat – and is complemented by five meditative rock pools. For those seeking active discovery, the Nature Center serves as a gateway to the island’s ecosystem, offering guided rainforest walks and nature encounters that highlight Langkawi’s unique biodiversity. These experiences are accompanied by the resort’s recreational courts for tennis, pickleball, and basketball, while the Kids’ Club brings play into the resort’s natural design, with dedicated zones for both high-energy and quieter moments. The club offers a weekly rotation of hands-on discovery, ranging from origami and bracelet making to interactive chess and foosball.

For iconic gatherings and celebrations, the resort offers over 5,400 square feet of indoor and outdoor spaces. The centrepiece is the Orchid Grand Ballroom, a 4,455-square-foot pillarless space designed with an airy, modern elegance to accommodate up to 210 guests. For more intimate gatherings, a suite of flexible function spaces, including the Orchid and Jasmine rooms, provides a private, light-filled setting for boardroom discussions and breakout sessions. Beyond the indoor venues, the resort’s Grand Lawn and 650-meter private beachfront provide a dramatic outdoor canvas for unforgettable weddings and corporate retreats. This tiered landscape of gardens and terraces creates a natural amphitheater, framed by the ancient rainforest canopy of Mount Mat Cincang.
