Iris & Wild Iris Bangkok launch: the new Rooftop Bar & Restaurant at SO/ Bangkok hotel is officially opened. The new high-end dining and drinking destination presents a Riviera-inspired destination above the city. Unfolding across the 29th and 30th floors overlooking Lumphini Park it integrates three connected environments: Iris, an elegant glass-house dining room on the 29th floor; Iris Terrace, an open-air terrace on the 30th floor with panoramic park views; and Wild Iris, a rooftop bar on the 29th floor that transitions the atmosphere from sunset Aperitivo to late-night celebration with curated DJ sets.
Under the direction of Italian-trained Sicilian chef Enrico Pantorno, the culinary concept centres on contemporary Southern Italian cuisine – citrus-bright, ingredient-led plates, crudo-style seafood and handcrafted pasta designed for sharing. The bar programme draws inspiration from Southern European aperitivo culture, featuring botanical, citrus and bittersweet cocktails. At the helm is an Italian-trained culinary team led by Chef Enrico Pantorno. With a career spanning Europe and Asia, Enrico was born and raised in Sicily, where his cuisine was shaped by the flavours and rituals of Southern Italian family cooking – rooted in seasonality, generosity and connection.

Having worked in the UAE, Denmark and Thailand, Enrico brings an international perspective refined by discipline and cultural exchange. His achievements include winning the Aviko Masterchef Plating competition in 2025, appearing as a winner on Iron Chef Thailand in 2020, and representing Etihad Airways as the face of its inflight chef campaign.
His philosophy balances authenticity with evolution – honouring Sicilian ingredients such as olive oil, citrus and seafood while expressing them through a contemporary lens. At the heart of his work is a simple principle: creating culinary connections that bring people together through meaningful dining experiences defined by vibrant produce and restrained elegance.
