Sofitel Luang Prabang is inviting families to embark on a journey of discovery with a generous package that includes accommodation, airport transfers and a half-day of activities for parents and children to reconnect whilst learning something new.

The UNESCO protected hotel is a haven for families seeking privacy with their loved ones, with just 25 suites situated around spacious gardens which include a 25-metre swimming pool, kids area and sun beds. The luxury hotel also offers a wellness spa, fitness centre and indulgent dining offerings such as the Governor’s Grill – Farm to Table restaurant. All ingredients for the restaurant are sourced locally such as feta from the Buffalo Dairy farm, vegetables from nearby organic farms or sausages from a local German Butcher.

The Lao Tiew Laos Family Package is available from 150USD net per night and includes an experience at a pottery village or a cooking class at the hotel. The package also includes complimentary transfers from the airport, ensuring an easy weekend escape for those visiting from around Laos.

Families embarking on the pottery village experience will enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding mountains from the comfort of a boat as they set off to discover the hidden village to which few tourists venture. At the village, families will discover how pottery is crafted using Laotian techniques and have the opportunity to make their own earthenware design under the guidance of locals. Guests will also be able to enjoy local cuisine made from the freshest ingredients and have an insight into the lifestyle of villagers.

Families who opt for the cooking experience will have the opportunity to step behind the scenes of local gastronomic culture. The richly interactive experience begins with a private tour of a local department store where a guide will introduce guests to indigenous ingredients and their unique health properties. Upon returning to the hotel, families will enjoy a French breakfast before donning their aprons for a step-by-step cooking class. The expert chef of Sofitel will guide families through some secret recipes to produce a lovely lunch, to be enjoyed at the conclusion of the morning.

Sofitel Luang Prabang is centrally located on the Old Town peninsula, bordered to the north by the mighty Mekong River, on which riverboats offer full-day and half-day cruises through glorious countryside. Also within easy reach of the hotel are excursions to magnificent waterfalls, the ancient Pak Ou Caves, and ethnic country villages. There is so much for families to explore, all within walking distance: myriad exquisite temples, numerous fascinating museums, the famous Night Market, and a variety of restaurants and cafes offering local and international menus.

Families can book the Family Package in a Garden Suite from 150USD net per night (2 adults, 1 child), or the Signature Governor’s Residence from 180USD net per night (2 adults, 2 children) for stays until 30th June 2021. A minimum two-night consecutive night stay is required. Airport transfers are complimentary.
