Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort has announced the unveiling of its newly refurbished rooms, following an extensive four-week renovation. Backed by a $2 million USD investment, the project reflects Anantara Bophut’s unwavering commitment to delivering one of the most luxurious and unique guest experiences on the Island. The transformation includes a
comprehensive room redesign, complemented by the introduction of a brand-new Kids and Teens
Club and a state-of-the-art Technogym fitness facility set to launch in Q1 and Q2 2025,
respectively.

The extensive renovation, led by the acclaimed Abacus Design, draws inspiration from the
resort’s lush tropical gardens and Bophut’s landscape designer Bill Bensley’s philosophy of
harmonious coexistence between humans, animals, and nature. Nestled within a well-established
coconut plantation, the redesigned rooms now embody a seamless blend of indoor comfort and
outdoor serenity through earthy wood tones and subtle greens.

The refurbishment prioritises space, light, and natural elegance across the Premier Garden View,
Deluxe Garden View, and Deluxe Sea View Room categories. Key upgrades include:

  • Ceiling Redesign: Third-floor rooms now feature vaulted ceilings, creating a more expansive and inviting ambiance.
  • Extended Balcony Doors: Larger balcony doors flood rooms with natural light, deepening the connection to the resort’s lush gardens.
  • Updated Interiors: Modern flooring, reimagined minibar designs, and an earthy colour
    palette enhance warmth and sophistication.

Looking ahead to additional exciting developments, in March 2025, a 150 sqm state-of-the-art
Technogym fitness facility will open in a brand-new space next to the resort’s Spa. Designed to
offer guests a seamless luxury wellness and fitness experience, the gym will feature advanced
Technogym equipment, including six cardio machines, six resistance machines, free weights,
bench presses, and functional fitness tools integrated with online Technogym courses.

Q2 2025 will also see the introduction of what is set to be the Island’s leading Kids’ and Teens’ Club experience. Housed in a newly relocated space with its own terrace, ‘The Treehouse Kids
Club’ will embrace the resort’s story of monkeys and nature. It will feature a creative treehouse-inspired design, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, wall nooks for hiding, and an array of
Montessori-inspired play spaces.

In a separate space next door, the Teens’ Club, ‘The Lounge,’ will offer arcade games, a reading
corner, and a relaxed hangout area. Both spaces will be paired with an exceptional array of child
and teen-friendly cultural experiences, including The Samui Way of Life programme, which
teaches children about Koh Samui’s long history of diversity and acceptance, via a schedule including guided mediation, a palm leaf fish treasure hunt on the beach, before paying respect to
mother nature at the local spirit house.

Since its opening in 2004, Anantara Bophut has stood as an emblem of tropical luxury on Koh
Samui. As one of the Island’s original resorts, this iconic space is home to a spectacular Bill
Bensley-designed landscape, immersing guests in acres of lush gardens, and serene lily ponds,
featuring magnificent Victoria Amazonica water lilies reaching up to three meters in size. The
resort’s unique story draws from a local folktale about Gla and Ai-Jow, a man and a baby monkey whose special bond symbolises harmony between humans and nature. This enchanting narrative is reflected throughout the resort’s design, with monkey statues representing key moments from the tale and emphasising the importance of communication, friendship, and shared existence.
