Quality brunches and buffets is now available in Patong, from Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort!

In the last few years Phuket’s most known destination Patong beach have been improved with the addition of some really high quality hotels, presented as part the world’s well-known brands. Sheraton’s Four Points brand belongs to these that now have a presence in Phuket – operating as a premier upscale hotel chain for business and leisure travellers.

Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort can facilitate conferences and meetings and is also an international tourist hotel. The 600-room hotel is situated at the northern end of Patong beach and remarkably low-key in appearance to have that many rooms – it has a boutique feel.

This hotel is currently also the foremost hotel in Patong proper when it comes to offering attractive and regular food and beverage events. It has elevated the level of drinking and dining and caters to the wishes of a guest client that searches for more quality and discerning environs than is otherwise the norm in this resort town. During the pandemic period it has built a strong domestic following and is now an attraction in its own right, also boasting its Deck Beach Club Patong – a rooftop beach-facing beach club with swimming pool that frequently arranges parties and also offers sunset promotions.

Then, every weekend the Saturday International Dinner Buffet is served. There is also a monthly Sunday Brunch at the first weekend of every month.

Four Points Phuket boasts two restaurants that alternate to host these buffets and brunches: Sears & Co. Bar and Grill (which is situated facing the beach road) as well as Chao Leh Kitchen. The latter is situated poolside, further inside the resort, among green lawns, swimming pools and a lush garden. Here, the Saturday buffet was experienced and photographed.

Chao Leh Kitchen serves an international a la carte menu during lunch and dinner, with a spotlight on Phuket favourite and classic Thai dishes. This restaurant is also designed to express Phuket’s heritage, which is noticeable in the form of certain interior design elements, genuine Peranakan hardwood furniture from yesteryear placed in a corner by the restrooms, as well as in the form of murals.

The glass-enclosed indoor/outdoor restaurant comes with a modern black/white/grey/blue-hued interior and marble tables combined with Phuket heritage rattan-like chairs, as well as upholstered designer armchairs and sofas. There are also ceiling- and floor fans in colonial-tropical style. It is an airy and cosy living room-style eatery.

Opting for a terrace table one overlooks the pleasant pool garden and hotel wings.

If opting for free flow wine (package or per hour has been on offer) red, wine and sparkling wine is poured at the table and with a steady flow. The wines served: Wine: Chilano Cabernet Sauvignon; Rememorar, Sauvignon Blanc (Chile); Fleur De France; and Fleur De France brut.

The buffet spread is distributed on various counters and separated into different food stations: noodles, pasta, pizza, grill, sushi, seafood, cold cuts etc.

Starting off with some assorted cheese and cold cuts, including pepperoni, and paired with sparkling wine, is always a winner. Dressings include chilled mango and balsamic. And a delicious bowl of that pumpkin soup – do not miss it, as this is usually so tasty, made from the Thai-grown vegetable!

The seafood is of course a strong highlight in Phuket, and thus also in the buffet spread, as the catch of the day directly from the Andaman Sea. The seafood is both grilled to perfection and spread on ice; such as crab, mussels, shrimp and scallops. There are various sauces to match with the seafood such as Spicy seafood sauce, Tatar, Spicy tamarind sauce and Mala sauce (a spicy and numbing seasoning made from Sichuan peppercorn and chilli – just like Thais like it… hot). There is also a Southern Thai dish called Gaeng Som Goong Malakor, which is sour spicy curry with shrimp. After a few minutes your mouth vibrates with turmeric and throbs with chillies. There is deep fried fish as well – all this balanced and enhanced by the chilled white wine.

When you’ve had your fill of fish/seafood there are also succulent grilled chicken and pizza slices, and choices of pasta cooked a la minute. It’s all a feast! And it does not end until after several hours later and one or two visits also to the dessert station, with its tarts, chocolate cake and other delicious temptations…
