New Crowne Plaza IHG Vietnam signing: Crowne Plaza Vinh Yen City Centre will open in 2022, according to a new agreement between IHG Hotels & Resorts and Bao Quan Co., JSC.

The 170-room hotel is located in the heart of Vinh Yen – the capital of Vinh Phuc Province – and brings Crowne Plaza’s distinctive design style that integrates business and leisure. It will feature contemporary design-led spaces inspired by local influences and a rich cultural history, while offering exciting dining destinations and innovative spaces to blend work and play.

Situated 30 minutes from Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport, Crowne Plaza Vinh Yen City Centre is ideally located for business travellers. As one of the largest industrial provinces in Vietnam, Vinh Phuc continues to attract high-quality foreign direct investment (FDI) with many multinational corporations (MNCs) in its industrial parks, which are just around the corner. Vinh Yen will also host part of the rescheduled 2021 South-east Asian Games, that will be held in mid-May 2022, with the hotel being a key hub for the Games.

As the first upscale and premium international hotel in the region, domestic visitors and local communities alike will delight in its extensive facilities, while appreciating its proximity to must-visit destinations including Tam Dao National Park, Truc Lam An Tam Zen Monastery, Vinh Phuc’s four highly-rated golf courses and many more attractions.

As the provincial government continues to encourage further economic development in the region, the entry of a world-class international premium hotel brand marks a sign of confidence and growth as we drive economic success and progress in Vinh Phuc and the area as a whole,” said Le Duy Thanh, Chairman of the Vinh Phuc People’s Committee.

Serena Lim, Vice President, Development, South East Asia & Korea, IHG said: “It’s fantastic to partner Bao Quan Co., JSC to bring the Crowne Plaza brand to Vinh Yen. The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted the future of work, and the future of meetings, blending work and leisure needs. The desire for human connection is stronger than ever as travellers look to rebuild professional and personal relationships.

“This hotel, with its convenient location and Crowne Plaza’s work/life blend experience, is ideally placed to act as both the centre of the community and the venue where everything happens. Modern travellers and visitors will benefit from the hotel’s design, which offers a seamless transition between work and downtime. It also complements IHG’s strategy to support the governmental masterplan to grow in industrial locations.”

“We chose to partner with IHG for our first venture into hotel management due to their strong local presence in Vietnam, as well as their truly global scale, enterprise and systems. Their team has been sensitive to our needs as we enter the final build stage and, together, we have made cost-effective tweaks to the existing design to bring the Crowne Plaza brand to life, while accentuating the business and meetings focus of the hotel,” said Bui Xuan Trung, Chairman, Bao Quan Co., JSC.

“IHG has proven to be a fantastic partner, fully supporting our business and plans for opening amidst the pandemic. We are excited to journey with them as Vietnam reopens its borders and welcome the upcoming SEA Games. The combined power of our experience will ensure we deliver exceptional guest experiences to visitors of Vinh Yen.”

Inspired by the evolving demand for flexible spaces, the hotel is designed in the new brand-defining Crowne Plaza concept, fulfilling the needs of the busy professional with its signature Plaza Workspace lobby, an executive lounge, business corner, and agile working spaces. A range of multi-function rooms, including an eye-catching 850 square metre ballroom, offer market-leading options for local events and the region’s MICE industry.

Guests can wind down in rooms designed in the WorkLife concept, with a quarter designed as large format suites equipped with kitchenettes, ideal for a short trip or for a long-stay serviced apartment option. Visitors will savour the prospect of sampling the hotel’s two food and beverage outlets, as well as frequenting the Club Lounge, outdoor pool, gym, and spa.

IHG has been in Vietnam for over a decade and currently has 14 hotels across four brands: Six Senses, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn, with another 15 properties in the pipeline, which includes brand entries for Regent in Phu Quoc and voco Hotels in Danang. This is part of IHG’s plan to grow its estate in Vietnam across all of its brands.
