Avani+ Maldives sunset cocktails news: the Fares-based resort invites guests to experience island life with the Ambaa Adventure, a first-of-its-kind service. This traditional Maldivian dhoni sails across the turquoise waters of Fares to deliver handcrafted cocktails and mocktails directly to Avani+ Fares Maldives guests’ private overwater pool decks.

Taking its name from the local Dhivehi word for ‘cheers’, Ambaa is a joyful toast to life, connection and memorable moments. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm, guests staying in one of the resort’s Over Water Villas or exclusive two- and three-bedroom Sunset Over Water Pool Residences can watch the horizon for the yellow sail of the Ambaa boat gliding across the turquoise lagoon. Designed in the style of a traditional Maldivian dhoni, once used for fishing and island transport, the vessel celebrates local heritage with a contemporary twist.

As the floating bar circles the island, guests can signal the captain for their sundowner by raising the exclusive Ambaa flag from their private deck. Once docked, the onboard bartender crafts complimentary cocktails and mocktails infused with vibrant flavours.

Guests can unwind with The Green of the Fares, a vibrant cocktail that blends basil, lime, apple and gin, evoking the lush tropical landscapes of the island. For a refreshing tropical twist, the Ambaa Breeze offers a delightful mix of watermelon, pineapple, lemon and ginger, with a splash of white rum that captures the essence of a gentle island breeze. Those seeking a taste of the Maldives’ coconut heritage can indulge in the Fares Kurumba, a rich combination of coconut water, Malibu and spiced gold rum, honouring the island’s iconic coconut trees and tranquil shores.

“With the introduction of Ambaa Adventure, we are bringing the magic of Maldivian hospitality right to our guests’ villas,” said GM Judd Rabbidge. “Overlooking nothing but the endless ocean and breathtaking sunsets, this experience is a perfect reflection of Avani’s focus on creativity, guest connection and celebrating local traditions.”

Guests can enjoy the Ambaa Adventure and benefit from 20% more savings when booking the Your Passport to Paradise offer for stays between 1 April – 22 December 2025.
