Mercure, one of the world’s largest midscale brands, has debuted the initial phase of its new resort in Rayong, Thailand. Located on the eastern seaboard, Mercure Rayong Lomtalay Villas and Resort is set to become one of the region’s trendiest beach destinations. Already, guests can experience the resort’s beachside offerings, including 51 rooms, suites and villas in the ocean wing as well as a pool-bar, restaurant, meeting room and spa facilities.

A grand launch will take place upon the completion of the resort’s garden wing in 2023, which will include an additional 133 rooms, suites and villas, four restaurants and bars, along with expansive meeting, conferencing and events facilities.

Rayong is an easy-going resort town located just a few hours’ drives from Bangkok. Nestled on the beachfront of the spectacular Laem Mae Phim Cape, the trendy 184-room pet-friendly resort is perfect for an inspiring seaside escape. The ocean inspired architecture of the resort integrates colourful Thai flowers within its design adding a bold and dynamic personality to the resort.

“We are very pleased to expand our network in Thailand with the launch of our 10th Mercure hotel in the country. With the brand’s trusted global reputation and refreshed identity, I am confident that Mercure Rayong Lomtalay Villas & Resort will drive greater tourism to the province. Each Mercure hotel is characterized by the individuality of the destination that it resides – I know that guests will love experiencing a portal into Rayong’s unique coastal offerings with the exciting array of local experiences on offer here,” said Garth Simmons, CEOf of Accor, Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea.

Clustered between verdant gardens with vibrant sea views, the ocean wing consists of 51 warm and cozy guest rooms across three different configurations. All rooms are beautifully decorated with ocean-inspired light wood décor. The 33 Executive Rooms offer a comfortable outdoor seating area with lush courtyard views. The eight spacious Suites feature panoramic views of the ocean, while the 10 contemporary Villas offer easy access to the swimming pool and beach. Additional room configurations will be offered upon the launch of the Garden Wing.

Mercure believes food and beverage experiences allow travellers to fully immerse themselves in the destination. The all-day dining restaurant, ECUME, takes diners through a locally sourced and organic culinary journey. The Executive Chef works closely with Rayong fishermen and suppliers to showcase the freshest local flavours. Local specialties and international favourites can be enjoyed indoors or al fresco. SAL Pool Bar is an ideal spot to enjoy refreshing signature beverages and comfort food, whilst enjoying the ocean breeze and appreciating panoramic views of the Gulf of Thailand. Four additional dining experiences will be available to discover early next year.

Guests looking to stay in shape during their travels can visit the fitness centre, featuring the latest cardio equipment and weights. For those who prefer outdoor activities, the resort team is happy to recommend jogging routes around the surrounding neighbourhood. Inspired by the nearby ocean waves, the free-form beachfront swimming pool allows for a refreshing dip on beautiful Rayong days. Those seeking ultimate relaxation can unwind at Lomtalay Spa in collaboration with Phytomer. Treatments feature natural marine ingredients with expert massage practitioners offering a truly indulgent spa journey.

For corporate events, team building, or beach weddings, the meeting facilities at the Ocean Wing include an expansive space with an outdoor terrace that can accommodate up to 250 guests.

“The resort is rooted in local traditions and culture, with Thai inspired interiors and menu offerings sourced locally. Together with the local community, we pride ourselves on taking sustainability seriously by working with nearby producers and minimizing our impact on the environment. I know that Mercure Rayong Lomtalay Villas & Resort will become a great hub within the province, delivering an authentic and high quality experience,” said GM David G. Daguise.

Mercure Rayong Lomtalay Villas & Resort is located nearby to notable local attractions, including the vibrant seafood market on Haad Suan Son Beach, the Ban Phe Fresh Market, the historic Yomjinda Road, and the Old Town of Rayong. Beautiful waterfalls and nature trails are easily accessible at Khao Chamao – Khao Wong National Park, as well as the eco-tourism attraction of Tung Prong Thong Golden Mangrove Field. The Mun Islands can also be visited from Rayong, for those seeking a one-day trip to explore pristine islands and marine life.
