Aman Maldives resort opening announcement: A pioneer in the creation of timeless sanctuaries, this unique brand has long been revered as a provider of peace, privacy, intuitive service and awe-inspiring locations. Continuing this legacy, the brand is pleased to announce its 21st destination and the latest addition to its 35-strong collection: Aman Maldives, a blissful private island oasis in the Vaavu atoll, one of the most spectacular archipelagos on Earth.

A paradise of verdant green islands and white sands, Aman Maldives will feature a 52 key resort and 16 branded residences, designed by longtime Aman collaborator Kerry Hill Architects. As one of the most secluded and exclusive parts of the Maldives, known for its exceptional diving, the design and architecture embraces the simplicity and beauty of the environment, taking inspiration from the white coralline beaches and clear turquoise waters for which the destination is so renowned.

With standalone pavilions ranging from one to three bedrooms, some located on the main resort island and others on its tranquil extensions, each will include a private pool. In addition, the property will enjoy a variety of restaurants venues, a beach club and several private dining locations promising exceptional culinary encounters that complement island living.

Embodying the brand’s pioneering approach to wellness, Aman Maldives’ expansive spa facilities will span 2,638 square meters. Situated on its own island, dedicated to wellbeing, the spa will bring new experiences in health and rejuvenation to the destination including two private Spa Houses, a signature of Aman. The property will also feature a dive centre and watersport activities, for exploring the country’s most pristine reefs.

Home to 16 Aman Residences – ranging from five to 10 bedrooms, Aman Maldives will provide personal enclaves of seclusion and an unparalleled sunrise experience from their far eastern vantage point, where the sun first graces the horizon. With each residence set on its own islet complete with a private beach, the properties will feature a 25-metre swimming pool and personal landing jetty, whilst still being in close proximity to the main resort’s amenities.

Speaking about this latest destination, Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group said:
“The introduction of Aman Maldives is a significant milestone for our brand as we bring Aman’s ethos of timeless elegance, unparallelled service and ultimate privacy to the destination for the first time. Having secured a site in the most exclusive and secluded parts of the country, I’m delighted to bring Aman’s renowned lifestyle and ultra-luxury way of living to the destination.”

The arrival of Aman Maldives’ will take the brand’s presence to 21 destinations and joins Beverly Hills, Niseko and Bangkok, amongst others, in a robust pipeline of forthcoming properties. Construction is now underway, with further details and a confirmed opening date to be announced in due course.

The first, Amanpuri (place of peace), in Phuket, Thailand, introduced the concept and, since then, Aman has grown to encompass 35 exquisitely serene hotels, resorts and branded residences, ranging from the urban to the remote, in 20 destinations across the globe. Aman has a robust pipeline of future projects under construction.

In recent years, Aman Group has grown to offer its coveted lifestyle beyond the parameters of its havens including Aman Skincare (2018), supplement range Sva (2020), Aman Fine Fragrance (2020), ready-to-wear collection The Essentials by Aman (2021), performance skincare line Aman Essential Skin (2023) and Aman Interiors (2023) offering bespoke designed furniture items inspired by the world of Aman.

With innovation a cornerstone of the brand’s philosophy, in 2020 Aman introduced a new hotel brand, Janu – meaning ‘soul’ in Sanskrit. Janu offers a unique take on hospitality where genuine human interaction, playful expression and social wellness are at the core of the experience. Janu aims to bring balance to the head and heart and rekindle the soul. In March 2024, Janu’s inaugural hotel, Janu Tokyo, opened its doors and several forthcoming Janu hotels are already in development.
