Grand Mercure Batam Centre hotel has opened on the island that has ferry connections with both Malaysia and Singapore. Grand Mercure is Accor’s brand known for providing an immersive cultural experience that celebrates national heritage with modern flair.

The hotel opening marks the debut of the Grand Mercure brand in this strategic Indonesian hub, inviting travellers to experience Batam through a cultural lens, where indigenous design, locally inspired cuisine, and heartfelt service converge. Perfectly located just five minutes from Batam Centre International Ferry Terminal – connecting Batam with Singapore and Malaysia – and steps from One Batam Mall, the hotel offers seamless access for business and leisure guests alike. The hotel features 230 rooms and suites, drawing inspiration from the island’s coastal landscapes, with interiors echoing the forms of sea-worn stones and tidal rhythms.

At Grand Mercure Batam Centre, design details draw from the region’s cultural identity – most notably the traditional Batik Gonggong motif, which features throughout the hotel’s team members’ uniforms as a tribute to the Riau Islands’ artistic heritage. Soft island music sets a gentle rhythm in public spaces, creating an evocative and immersive sense of place.

Culinary experiences at the hotel are led by Ambrosia, the all-day dining restaurant, serving Batam specialities including Mie Tarempa and Luti Gendang. Celeste Café and Lounge offers light bites and refreshments in a relaxed, poolside setting. Guests will also enjoy a range of leisure facilities including a spacious swimming pool, a kids’ club, spa and fitness centre.

Grand Mercure Batam Centre offers versatile event spaces to meet the needs of corporate and celebratory gatherings.
