The beloved Tandoor Indian Singapore restaurant will reopen its doors on 14 February 2023 – Valentine’s Day – at the Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre. This good news comes after a two-year hiatus. Boasting contemporary interiors, authentic North-Indian cuisines, the restaurant’s re-opening will have Tandoor Chef Sunder helming the team. Hailing from New Delhi, India, Chef Sunder was announced as Noteworthy Newcomer, Restaurant in 2015 and is a proud recipient of Times Food Award for Best North-Indian Restaurant, New Delhi, for four consecutive years.

Originally established in 1985, this all-time-favourite North-Indian restaurant in Orchard Road is set to recapture the hearts and minds of diners, one herb at a time.

Diners are taken on a journey from the moment they enter Tandoor’s welcoming dining enclave. The restaurant features clean lines and an understated palette complement the back-lit alabaster wall panels featuring Jaali, a latticed screen typical of Indian architecture. At the same time, twin pillars house the traditional Indian craft of inlay mirrors. Full-length glass windows give diners an intimate view of the kitchen where chefs bake traditional bread and kebabs in two custom-made copper tandoors. There is also an adjoining private dining room, Maharajah Suite, that can seat up to 50 diners, for those looking to host a small event.

Tandoor’s well-loved menu pays homage to the colourful stories that make up India’s rich culinary heritage. The extensive choices take you on an epic jaunt of flavours across India, where every taste tells a story. According to legend, the Malmali Seekh Kebab, a tender cinnamon-smoked minced mutton skewer, was created for a toothless Indian Nawab; and the delicately spiced lamb shank, Nalli Gosht, was an Ayurvedic recipe used to treat a king’s terrible cold. The chef’s dessert recommendation includes Gulkand Rasmalai, dumplings made from cottage cheese soaked in sweetened milk delicately flavoured with cardamom and rose relish. A Tandoor exclusive, the Mango Curry, with its unique mix of sweet, ripe mangoes in a savoury, spicy curry, is the dish that made a headline and put Tandoor on the lips of all Indian cuisine lovers.
